Pietro Cordici, Sicilian painter, graduated as a Master of Art in 1969, then he attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo. A well-known painter and sculptor, he also dedicated himself to graphics and set design. In 1977, he moved to Milan, attended the Accademia di Brera and joined the ‘Nuovo Informale’. In 1978, back to Figurative art and, back in Sicily, he studied the traditions and customs of the Nebrodi, by whom his subjects are recurrently inspired.
His works are in museums and both public and private collections.
In this work the main subject, a woman who covers her face with her hands, is made with thick textures of long and thin signs, and warm and enchanting colours, recalling his land of origin.
