Salvo (1947-2015) - L'Inverno

Salvo (1947-2015) - L'Inverno
Radierung und Aquatinta im Rahmen - Handsigniert - 100 ex. - 60 x 80 cm.

Between the end of 1979 and 1980, Salvo painted a series of landscapes with country houses, churches and monuments such as San Giovanni degli Eremiti in Palermo and the Tower of Pisa, where trees inspired by Giotto and previously almost non-existent vegetation appeared. Between 1982 and 1983, his reputation became further established in Europe. After the big retrospective organised by Massimo Minini at the museum of contemporary art in Ghent, the following year his most significant works made after 1973 were brought together at the Kunstmuseum in Lucerne, then at the Nouveau Musée in Villeurbanne, near Lyon. He started to have relations with writers Giuseppe Pontiggia and Leonardo Sciascia, who would dedicate some writings to Salvo.
