Vidun was the first table in the De Padova collection, created in 1987 by Vico Magistretti. The base of the table is an enormous wooden screw (Vidun, vite in Milanese dialect), sturdy but refined, like all the objects that come out of the hands of Pierluigi Ghianda, one of the greatest contemporary cabinet-makers.
Very practical, this screw allows the height of the table to be adjusted (from 63 to 80 cm). The transparent glass top (diameter 130 cm) allows the base to be appreciated and gives the whole a great simplicity.
"It is always the conceptual detail that attracts people's attention," Magistretti argued, eliminating superfluous decoration from his designs, which he considered "useless and redundant".
