A quoy a esté adjousté un traité des pois mesures antiques, reduites à la françoise. Avec une table fort ample des noms matieres contenuës en ceste histoire : une autre petite table servant à certaines observations, remarquees apres l'impression de ce tome. Le tout fait mis en françois par Antoine du Pinet seigneur de Noroy.

First edition in French of the complete text of the natural history by Pliny. The translation by Antoine du Pinet instantly raised attention for its quality and erudition. Pliny’s text forms the first large universal encyclopedia. All scientific topics are discussed, such as botany, zoology and geography, and also mathematics, physics and astronomy.
