Rare shades/varieties study with selected copies of the 20 cent type I, II and III Bordeaux issue displayed on Bristol sheets with typed annotations.
Several nuances and varieties, please note the no. 44 signed by Calves, the no. 45 alone on letters, a pair of no. 45 on an envelope, specimens with date postmarks, lined perforations and one complete reconstituted Report block of the no. 46B. A few varieties are not listed in catalogues (broken frame, stain on the lips...)
A selection that has yet to be expertly validated, but the shades of colour are sharp and credible overall. Please note that the no. 45 in ultramarine blue has not been included in the value.
