Marvellous oil painting, size: 25 x 45 cm - Italian Impressionist - by the Neapolitan artist Eniko Esposito, probably made in the second half of the 20th century and depicting a spring scene set in the countryside with characters (ladies) and life scenes of the Belle Époque, the atmosphere of a period that has always been dear to the artist.
Eniko Esposito was born in Naples in 1942. He was a versatile artist. After studying at the Art Institute of his city, he began his artistic career, quickly achieving pleasing results, especially thanks to his suggestive and classical style. He wasn’t attached to a specific subject matter, he managed to express himself in different themes with the same efficiency: views, market scenes, cafe interiors and much more.
Amongst his main exhibitions are: Naples 1968 - group; Rome 1971 - “Valle Giulia” Prize; Siena 1978 - Group, Tuscany voted 2nd; Milan 1983 - Personal. His technical ability allowed him to take on different themes with great results: views, market scenes, cafe interiors, snowfall and more. He held many exhibitions, both group and solo, in various Italian cities. His works were also highly rated in America, where he had many works in various Galleries. One of his works was recently auctioned by a famous international Auction House, which is very significant. The artist died in Naples in June 2009.
Belle époque work, with brushstrokes between French Impressionism and Divisionism of the early twentieth century, attracting both critics and private collectors. The gentle Parisian-style female figures, the diaphanous atmospheres in which the characters are immersed, are processed with very delicate brushstrokes, creating sensations of visual satisfaction in the observer...]
