Vintage Ray-Ban Photosun were first true B&L photochromatic lens set in their gold frame 1970s. They adjust to the sun's brightness. In full sunlight, they allow only 20% of the light to get through. Out of the sun, they fade to a light tint 65% transmittance. When cloudy, they will be somewhere in between. PhotoSun lenses will darken to 75% of their full capacity within the first minute of exposure. Out of sunlight, they will lighten half way in 10 minutes and about 75% within 90 minutes. B&L PhotoSun lenses are the predecessor of the later Ray-Ban Changeables with same properties.
