Church martyrs, with in the foreground St Apollonia having her teeth drawn out by an executioner standing at left; beyond, above, Pope Stephen sitting on a throne and about to be beheaded, at left the beheading of St Sixtus and beyond the walls of a city; after the fresco executed ca. 1598 in San Stefano Rotondo by Niccolò Circignani, called 'II Pomarancio', earliest record of activity 1564, d. Città della Pieve, c. 1598.
