Multatuli - Max Havelaar (in Chinese vertaling) - 1987

The Chinese translation of the Max Havelaar (“Magesi Hafulaer”), published in 1987 in an edition of only 3000 copies. This booklet is very hard to find and a real must-have for the Multatuli collector.

The booklet is in neat, read condition. It includes a newspaper article from NRC Handelsblad in which this translation and its creation are discussed. The two translators are speaking. They grew up in the Dutch East Indies as members of the Chinese community.
