Very rare 1st edition (1906) copy of Miltons 'Paradise Lost' superbly illustrated by William Blake.

Very good complete condition with some foxing to the unprinted pages at the start and end of the book.

12 beautiful illustrations in colour with printed tissue guards (two are loose).

A loosely inserted page shows a record of it being purchased in 1984.

The linen backed spine is very good with the original label. The spine and cover have age related marks but the whole book is in very stable condition.

William Blake (28 November 1757 – 12 August 1827) was a visionary Romantic English poet, painter, and printmaker. Largely unrecognised during his lifetime, Blake is now considered a seminal figure in the history of the poetry and visual arts of the Romantic Age.
