René BILLOTTE 1848-1914
Born in Tarbes in 1848, René Billotte died in Paris in 1914. This painter loved to represent on his canvases the landscapes of Paris and its suburbs. Student of Eugène Fromentin, friend of Guy de Maupassant who made him a protagonist of his novel Bel-Ami and dedicated to him the short story Un Coq chanta, published in the Contes de la bécasse, slipping his friend's quotations into Notre Coeur.
