Oil on canvas depicting San Martino giving half of the cloak to a man in need, monogrammed FR.
The painting is to be placed indisputably in the line of the Baroque painting of the Neapolitan seventeenth century; the articulated compositional complexity, the chromatic vivacity (although it has a patina, to be cleaned) and the popular and at the same time energetic expressiveness of the protagonists of the painting are evident.
The work is monogrammed FR, without wishing to claim certain attribution, it could lead us back to the artist from Monopoli Fracanzano Francesco.
However, here we merely highlight the certain quality of a painting of the Neapolitan Baroque.
Painting in fair condition, relined and re-stretched in the 19th century.
Craquelure and cracking of pigment on the whole surface.
Restorations have emerged under Wood’s lamp, some also visible in the photos.
After being tested with solvents, the work has proven fully authentic.
With certificate of authenticity and lawful origin issued by our gallery, with photo as required by the law.
Insured and tracked shipping.
Our frames are kindly offered as gifts, therefore we do not accept disputes and are not responsible for any damage during transport.
