Very beautiful collection sculpture,"Le Moissonneur", by Auguste Moreau representing a young man with a pitchfork in the act of harvesting a bundle of straw. Signed on the base: Aug Moreau.
The whole is set on a red marble base with the title of the work as well as the artist's name.

The sculpture is in excellent condition. A very slight fading of patina on the toe and a wheat stalk.
The red marble base shows two chips at the back, so hidden and that do not change the value of the sculpture.

Secure, reinforced and insured shipment.

Auguste Moreau is the son of the sculptor Jean Baptiste-Louis-Joseph Moreau and the younger brother of the sculptors Hippolyte and Mathurin Moreau, he produced mainly art bronzes.
Auguste Moreau has mainly produced art bronzes. Several of his works are exhibited in several museums, including the Musée des Beaux-Arts of Troyes and the Musée des Beaux-Arts of Bordeaux.
