Offered for sale is a Chinese blue and white "Burghley House" deep plate / dish, circa 1745.
Painted in the well with a view of a large country house with a flag flying above the entrance and a terrace to one side, a large bird flying above and other birds perched on and by the trees in the foreground, with a stylised lingzhi fungus scroll around the cavetto, the rim with a baroque scrollwork border.
