Beautiful work, Larense School. Museum quality.
J.W. Kiesewetter. 1883-1951. Johan Willem Kiesewetter was born in Amsterdam on 13 May 1883 and died on 8 July 1951 in Amsterdam. He lived and worked in Amsterdam, Laren (NH) and Sloten. J.W. Kiesewetter painted, made watercolours, drew and etched landscapes, streets and houses. Work in the possession of the Singer Museum in Laren (NH).
A large number of painters from the first period 19th century such as Kiesewetter came to Laren to paint the unspoiled nature and the picturesque village with its inhabitants. The second generation of painters came to Laren because of its fame as a village of painters.
The work is generally in good condition with signs of old age and wear.
The little craquelure in the left corner makes it authentic.
