1906 Kotozuka Eiichi was born in Osaka.
He studied at the Kyoto Specialist School of painting and in the late 1940s was on of the four artists who founded a co-oporative publishing company called Koryokusya in an effort to agein an artistic expression free on major houses Tokuriki ,Tobei amd Tasaburo were the other three involved. He has created quite a number of woodblocks coverning unique scenes of Japanes tradition, flowers,landscapes and wildlife.He was amember of the seiryusya Group of liberal Artists and Died in 1979
The first edition was published in ca 1950s. This is a later edition issued by the original publisher in ca 1980.
