Rare and spectacular okimono with ambered patina depicting a sage (probably Daruma) who, seated, supports with one hand a Buddhist temple dedicated to the goddess Ben-ten.
The temple (which can be opened) is surmounted by a coiled dragon. Refined quality of the carving and great expressive power of Daruma that expresses the effort made with tense muscles and a grimace.

Minimal traces of glue on the base of the temple.
