On laid paper

Condition: Cut outside the border-line, and on two sides outside the plate-mark. Tears and small missing areas on edges, almost entirely outside of the border-line. Several stains. Foxing & age-related paper colouring (see photos).

Jan Dirksz Both (c.1620-1652) Dutch Painter, draughtsman and etcher
Worked in Utrecht, Rome & Venice. Died in Utrecht. Thought to be an apprentice of Abraham Bloemaert. Known for his Italianate landscapes. Follower of Paul Bril & Herman van Swanevelt.
