Three original woodblock postcard prints - Wada Sanzo (1883–1967) - Sketches of G.I. in New Japan, Collection I - Japan - 1945–1950
Set of three woodblock postcard prints with G.I.s during the occupation of Japan after WWII. The first print depicts a ship on the Hakata pier, with Japanese people returning home. The second print shows soldiers on duty at the Hibaya intersection in Tokyo. The third print shows G.I.s in uniform on the Sanyo bridge in Kyoto.
The postcards come with the original brochure, titled 'Woodcut Print Sketches of G.I. in New Japan complemented by Sanzo Wada, Collection 1'. Issued by Miho Shobo, Hakata, Japan, and printed by Kyoto Hanga in Kyoto.
A beautiful souvenir from post WWII Japan.
