Originaly a Triptych, the first outer right sheet, not available, shows Kataoka Gadō III as Teruhi no mae.
Performed at the Nakamura-za (Edo) in 09/1887
In this scene Princess Chūjō (R) is about to be beaten by her evil stepmother Teruhi-no-mae (not availble), while her faithful nurse looks on in her snow jacket and sedge hat (L).

Slightly creased. The lower right corner of the right sheet and the upper right corner of the left sheet are torn. The right sheet has a small tear on the right edge in the middle.
The outer right sheet of the triptych is missing.
