Evert Moll (1878-1955) - Rotterdamse haven
Öl auf Tafel - Handsigniert - 1920

Evert Moll 1878-1955.
Evert Moll is one of the most famous Dutch painters of the Impressionist river views and of the Rotterdam port views and scenes of navigation on the Nieuwe Maas that laid the foundation for the fame that Evert Moll especially enjoyed in the 1920s and 1930s of the last century. Begun around 1900 as a follower of the Hague School, he soon shifted his work to the docks and bridges of Maasstad. Also the dynamics of the port authority formed a source of inspiration for the painter. In addition, he also excelled in several other genres. So he also painted, in addition to ports and ships, cityscapes, landscapes and colourful, bold flower still lifes. Evert Mol was self-taught but received guidance from Willem Maris and Willem Roelofs among others. Musea: including Museum Boymans-van Beuningen in Rotterdam.
