Huge impressive Edo period Buddhist home altar with Double Buddha and Odaimoku tower.

Huge shrine: 62cm wide (open)
A lacquered wood Buddhist home altar (butsudan) with gilt-wood interior. The altar is very old and detailed. It is in very good condition for its age, as depicted. Shows signs of aging. Very complete with original casing and lock.

62cm wide (open), 28,7cm wide (closed), 38,7cm high, depth 14,5cm.
Dimensions statue approx.:
30,5cm high, 23cm wide, depth 9,7cm.
In the center is the Odaimoku tower inscribing “Namu Myōhō Renge Kyō”. The words Myōhō Renge Kyō refers to the Japanese title of the Lotus Sūtra.
An exceptional collectors item and hard to come by especially of this size/quality.
