Porcelain figurine: Little Skier and Cowboy Corral.
Fine condition, no scratches or chips, was glued once at the tail of the rocking horse.
Maria Innocentia Hummel (1909-1946) was a German nun who also painted children's scenes. She gave permission to Goebel and his porcelain factory to turn her drawings into porcelain sculptures. During WW 2 her sculptures were also popular among American soldiers who brought them home.
After her death, Goebel continued to produce the sculptures until 2008. Now the sculptures are collector’s items.
