MJ- Marie-Jeanne van de Velde is a contemporary Flemish artist. Born with an artistic eye and a passion for painting and handicrafts. Her path as an artist is multidisciplinary and covers a broad spectrum. Her career began as a professional painter in 1988 and in the meantime she became a gifted ceramist who always experimented with new materials and techniques.
Marie-Jeanne makes sculptures, ceramic objects, but still paints. You will usually find her working in her studio in Ronse.
Attracted by the abstract, but also by the figurative, she seeks a solution between the two. She is also attracted by the artists of "COBRA", and inspired by that movement she makes new creatures on canvas and in her sculptures.
