Vintage Parentesi floor lamp of Achille Castiglione per Flos, year 1970.
Flos Parentesi is the historic floor lamp suspended between floor and ceiling. The luminaire where the bulb is set can be moved up and down, thanks to the sliding of the shaped steel tube along the steel support cable that is suspended and stretched between the mounted part in the ceiling and the base on the floor. The head of the Flos Parentesi lamp, in black synthetic material, makes it possible to orient the bulb in every direction. It also has the switch, through which to switch the light on and off. The lamp is equipped with a power cord with plug, cable length 400 cm (from the lamp to the electric plug). Parentesi was designed and made for Flos in 1971, by Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzu, winner of the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award in 1979. The brilliant versatility of Parentesi is unique in its kind, it is a floor lamp but suspended from the ceiling, with an ingenious orientation system, thanks to the tension generated by a simple metal tube.
