I am offering for auction a superb early 20th century oil on canvas of a woodland scene with cabin and woodpile, by listed Danish artist Frederik Julius Augustus Winther, 1853-1916. Signed with initials and dated 1905 bottom left.

Winther studied at the Danish Royal Academy from 1871-1879
Was influenced by Thorvald Niss’s early impressionistic
Paintings but fell back to painting idyllic landscapes and
Waterscapes of islands and lakes. He was also influenced
By Holger Drachman and Harald Jerichau and later by
Peder Monsted. He traveled widely in Europe, in
Switzerland, Spain and Portugal
He exhibited at Charlottenberg from 1877-1915 as well as
In Chicago in 1893 where he won a medal. He is featured
At Malmo Museum in Sweden and Oregaards Museum in
Postage via DPD, UPS or Parcel force depending on country.
