Antique netsuke (nétske) from Japan. Porcelain baked with celadon glaze and glass eyes. The himotoshi for the string sit in the mouth of the dog. This netsuke is virtually the same as those from the collection of Raymond Bushell, and has been described in one of his many catalogs. He was once world's largest collector of netsuke whose renowned collection to a large extent in several museums (especially the US). This netsuke has no damage.
