Amethyst geode with two types of calcite crystals from this famous mine at
On the right in the geode is a large yellow calcite crystal and on the left a large number of smaller trigonal orange / red calcite crystals, partly covered with a glossy red hematite.
A nice large contrasting piece due to the white geode on the grey basalt with the purple amethyst crystals and the various colourful calcite.
Old find from the 1970s!
The piece was once stabilized and the glue has discoloured over time.
However, this is only on the outside and does not diminish the beauty of the piece as a whole.
