Self-portrait of Anthony van Dyck, bust on pedestal against a cloudy sky and a hilly landscape, looking towards the spectator on his right shoulder, with medium-length hair, moustache and goatee, wearing a cape. The pedestal is flanked by two busts of men in profile wearing helms. The text on the column is set in a shield, with trumpet, stick and a decorated plaque at base; lastly, is a writing with title and production details of the manufacturer (Gillis Hendricx) added on the engraving plate.
