A very rare, undocumented version of an iconic poster!
Ida van Bladel was an art director at Young & Rubicam, Brussels in 1971 when she designed the famous Levi's poster. The image of just a bare bottom with the Levi's tab and outline of a back pocket suggested that Levi's had a perfect fit. The image was so strong that no further text was needed (see the last picture, not part of this auction).
And now this never-seen-before copy turns up! With the text "miss levi's" and the logo in the upper right corner. We assume that this is the first version, preceding the one with text. Possibly the advertising agency discussed this poster and came to the conclusion that the text wasn't needed, and redesigned it. Consequently, this version was printed in very small numbers, in fact no other copy is known to our knowledge!
The name Young & Rubicam is printed vertically in the black panel. In the final version it had the text Vita Nova printed.
Condition: pin holes in all corners, some creasing in the margins.
Will be shipped rolled in a tube.
