Extraordinary coeval Zenith chronograph with 18 kt solid gold case, from the early 1950s.
It is equipped with the wonderful calibre 146D, a prestigious technical feature. The 'tactile' sensation of a column wheel movement is exciting: the start and stop button of the chrono is spotless, precise and requires a little effort, it doesn't have play. Therefore, you can stop and start the chronometer with greater pressure.
18 kt solid gold case measuring 35 mm in width excluding crown x 41 mm at the lugs. Bezel in 18 kt gold. Snap-on case back in 18 kt gold, satinised on the outside, marked Zenith on the inside and with gold hallmarks.
Original rectangular chronograph push buttons, bright coeval dial, absolutely not reprinted, in very good condition. Silver-coloured soleil dial with vivid reflections, not yellowed and absolutely not reprinted. Complete and easily legible graphics.
Golden Zenith applied rod hour markers and star, classic arrangement of the chrono minute counter at 3 o'clock, continuous seconds counter at 9 o'clock, golden sword hands, flame blued steel seconds hand of the central chrono, tachymetric scale outside of the hour markers.
A dial in a class of its own regarding balance and legibility.
Top quality Zenith movement, cal. 146D, 17 jewels, 18,000 A/h, the chronograph has column wheel switching.
Very clean movement, it works perfectly. It was last serviced on 16/05/2019, with proof of working order, as shown in the photos. It is precise, easy to wind and regular. The chronograph is in perfect working order.
Leather strap with rare buckle, original from the time, plated in gold and engraved with the Zenith logo.
Comes with original Zenith box from the 1950s, specifically for the 146D, and I can provide the certificate of legitimate origin.
