The etching has been reframed, acid free and in the original, authentic frame with
a silk mat.
The etching is in perfect condition, the frame has some traces of wear.

The painter Jacobus Jan Koeman was also a watercolour painter, graphic artist (etchings and lithographs),
sculptor, and ceramist of small plastics and also a modest enamel artist.
Jac. J. Koeman briefly attended the arts and crafts school in Amsterdam and then lived and worked in Paris, London, Edam, Loosdrecht, Blaricum, Zaandam and Amsterdam. After 1934, always in Bergen, where he eventually died in 1978.
In his period in Zaandam, he taught painting lessons to various artists such as Nic. de Carpentier, R.J. Ouwejan and G.N. Woudt.
Koeman was famous for his collaboration to some Verkade albums (including, among others, 'Texel').
He was a very versatile painter and, during his lifetime, he has made a lot of landscapes, still lifes, flower arrangements, portraits and figure studies.
