Superb artwork by the greatest artist of the 20th century.
‘Las Meninas’ (The Bridesmaids) is a series of 58 paintings which Pablo Picasso painted in 1957 by reinterpreting the work of Diego Velasquez, ‘Las Meninas’ (1656).
The series is kept at the Picasso museum in Barcelona and is the only complete set of the artist kept in one place. It is a very vast study consisting of 45 interpretations of the work, 9 scenes representing a dove, 3 landscapes, and a portrait of Jaqueline.
Picasso himself considered the series as a whole, and bequeathed it as a set to the Museum in Barcelona in May…
