Georges Grard was a Belgian sculptor. Grard trained at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Tournai in drawing, sculpture and painting. He is generally recognized as one of the greatest figurative Belgian sculptors. In 1930, he received a grant from the city of Tournai and was awarded the Rubens Prize by the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels.
In 1935 Grard won the "Prix de la Roseraie" in line with the World Exhibition in Brussels. From then on he devoted himself entirely to his sculpture in Sint-Idesbald.
