Shepard Fairey is also known as Obey Giant is an American contemporary street artist.
He first became famous for his sticker campaign “Andre the giant has a posse” (... OBEY...) while attending the Rhode Island School of Design.
He has been making prints for years which are very collectible.
He became widely known during the U.S. presidential election of 2008 for his Barack Obama "Hope" poster.
The Institute of contemporary art in Boston considers him one of the best and most influential street artists of his time.
His work is part of the collections of the Smithsonian, of the Los Angeles County Art Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego, the National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC, the Virginia Museum of fine arts of Richmond and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
