The depiction in the painting is clearly inspired by the still lifes created in the 17th century by masters of painting.
The painting is signed at the bottom right by A. Havelink and was probably made at the end of the first half of the twentieth century. Little information about the artist can be found on the internet. It may be a pseudonym or an anonymous painter.
It shows a beautiful composition of flowers in a vase that has been placed on a marble top. The panel is in good condition as well as the matching frame that consists of patinated plaster ornaments that are mounted on a wooden frame.
A few small, light scratches can be seen in the middle of the work, but otherwise the paintwork seems to be completely intact.
The painting comes from a private collection.
