Amazing photo of children at sea that are running away from the splashing waves. Silver gelatine print mounted on thick cardboard. On verso a studio stamp of Ed van Wijk and two labels of the 11th National Christmas shop for photographic art in Amsterdam in 1949 and the Photo and Film week in Breda in 1950, where this picture was seemingly part of.
Condition: Well, with some signs of wear (slightly bent corners, small dent in surface). Very good condition for this vintage full size picture.
* Ed van Wijk (Groningen, 1917 - The Hague, 1992) during wartime made illegal photos in The Hague and was besides, amongst others, Ed van der Elsken and Cas Oorthuys one of the photographers who recorded the flood disaster. Thanks to Simon Carmiggelt he became house photographer in 1940 of the Residence Theatre (later the Haagsche Comedie).
