This is a rtare and outstanding traditional landscape engraved by a member of the Kyoto school.
It was part of a series of ten original coloured woodcuts by Taniguchi Kokyo,
titled : Yofu gacho - nihen ( second album of Japanese landscapes)

Taniguchi Kokyo (1864-1915) was a Japanese-style painter born in Osaka. Studied painting under Kono Bairei. Excelled at history paintings. Active in the National Industrial Exhibition and the World's Fair. One of the Four Most Talented Pupils of Bairei. Taught at Kyoto City School of Arts and Crafts, and Kyoto City Specialist School of Painting.
Taniguchi Kokyo was assisted by other members of the Kyoto School like Takeuchi Seihô , Kikuchi Hobun and Yamamoto Shunkyo, to engrave the woodcuts.
