Beschreibung
Lieve Walschap (1930-) - 'Stilleven in complementaire kleuren.'
Öl auf Leinwand - Signiert - 1962

Very beautiful classically painted still life (still with layer upon layer technique).
Very nice wide, matching, classic frame.
Lieve Walschap was the direct son of the famous Gerard Walschap.
He stayed in He painted, the fishing boats in the port of Blankenberge among other things. A tourist, who came to admire the masterpieces behind his back, told his wife that he was better than the old one.
At one day, Johan Fabricius, who also stayed in Wenduine with his family, fetched him with his large Chevrolet convertible to portrait Albert Einstein in De Haan.
During the V1 and V2 bombing he fled to Brussels and found shelter in the flat by Marnix Gijsen.
He also stayed in Wechelderzande with his sister Carla, where a painter colony had developed.
Works in museums.
